Building Momentum: Abyan's Female Leaders Advance in Climate Resilience Training

The work of the "From Fragility to Resilience" course continues in Abyan for the third day with lectures on climate action and adaptation to changes.
On Tuesday, for the third consecutive day, the activities of the training course organized by the Ruaa Centre for Strategic Studies, Consultations, and Training continued. The course is supported by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Berghof Foundation, supervised by the Political Development Forum, and titled "From Fragility to Resilience: Training Female Community Leaders to Lead Climate Adaptation in Abyan."
The sessions of the third day were dedicated to discussing the concepts and modern tools of climate action. Trainer Yosra Sadiq addressed multiple topics, including the concept of climate action, its structure, and planning mechanisms, alongside climate action financing and its types. The session also reviewed the most prominent international agreements and Conferences of the Parties (COP) and their role in enhancing global efforts to confront climate change.
The training session also focused on the topic of adaptation to the effects of climate change, explaining its concept and importance in reducing climate risks. Additionally, it reviewed models for agricultural and financial adaptation, as well as early warning systems that contribute to reducing damages caused by environmental and climate disasters.
The management of the Ruaa Centre confirmed that these concepts represent fundamental pillars for building environmental and climate awareness among female community leaders in Abyan, enabling them to contribute to designing community initiatives and projects capable of mitigating the effects of climate change and enhancing local adaptation in affected areas.
