Ruaa Centre Advances Sea Turtle Conservation in Omeran District Schools
Aden, Yemen – Ruaa Centre for Strategic Studies, Consulting and Training hosted an awareness lecture on sea turtle conservation for students of Omran and Mariam Bint Omran schools in Al-Buraika's Omran area, furthering its commitment to protecting endangered sea turtles in Aden Gulf.
Dr. Jamal Bawzir, a renowned environmental expert, presented key threats to sea turtle populations, including marine pollution, overfishing, habitat destruction and egg poaching. He emphasized the ecological significance of sea turtles in maintaining regional environmental balance.
Students shared personal experiences and observed local violations, demonstrating a willingness to collaborate with Ruaa Centre in combating these threats.
Educational brochures, posters and warning signs were distributed, complemented by installations on Al-Azizi Island.
